I bolted upright, sputtering water and gasping for air. Frightened, in a state of utter consternation, my eyes frantically searched the unfamiliar room. Pink-tinted water ran from my hands, down my arm, and into the bath water.

Blinding fluorescent lights reflected harshly off of the porcelain tiles of the bathroom floor. The blood on my hands wasn’t mine. Through the open bathroom door, past two double beds, out the window, I could see a red sign blinking “VACANCY”.
